What to do in Cornwall at Easter

If you’re visiting Cornwall at Easter you’ll be spoiled for choice with everything you can see and do. Easter is a wonderful time to visit the Duchy as the evenings begin to get lighter, the gardens are coming back to life and the days start to become a little bit warmer. Wherever you are staying in Cornwall there are plenty of places to explore and experience for all the family, come rain or shine.

Here’s some of our top things to do in Cornwall this Easter

Visiting glorious gardens in Cornwall at Easter

Visit some of the wonderful gardens in Cornwall this Spring – you have the famous Eden Project with its dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes, a real must-see. Recognised by the British Travel Awards as the Best UK Leisure Attraction 5yrs running.

You’ll also find several National Trust gardens and properties such as Trelissick and Glendurgan – most will hold Easter-Egg hunts for the whole family to enjoy. Trebah Gardens on the Helford with its sheltered micro-climate is also a great place to visit with plenty of little beaches to explore nearby.

Cultural Cornwall

Cornwall is known for its art – we have the perfect scenery to capture, paired with the largest concentration of artists and creatives in the UK. Cornwall inspires artists with its unique light,  as being surrounded by water the sun reflects off of the blue sea, scattering bright sunlight. The Tate in St.Ives is a great place to visit, as well as the many other smaller galleries you’ll find in this seaside town and across Cornwall.

Sailing in Cornwall at Easter

We think one of the best ways to see Cornwall (and escape the crowds) is by boat. Book a sailing charter with us and you’ll be able to explore the whole coastline. We offer a skippered charter where you can sit back, relax and let everything be taken care of, or if you’re an experienced sailor you have the option of a bareboat charter. Visit the many hidden coves, pretty beaches and vibrant harbour towns – this is a great family day out or longer holiday idea in Cornwall.

Delicious food & drink in Cornwall

Cornwall is known for its local cuisine, and fresh seafood in particular – we have an abundance of great restaurants and highly acclaimed chefs. Whilst in Cornwall you have to check out some of our popular restaurants, from restaurants run by Rick Stein and Nathan Outlaw, to tucked away secret eateries created by a talented local. There’s some outstanding foodie spots like The Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach and Porthminster Cafe in St.Ives. Be sure to experience the very best in Cornish food, not forgetting a pasty and cream tea!

Perhaps you’re a fan of a refreshing G&T while you’re on holiday? Why not check out The Falmouth Distilling Co, which was founded in 2020 by three old friends. They are two chefs, a scientist and a little distillery on the coast, making small batch spirits with a focus on incredible flavour, careful craftsmanship and beautiful design.

On the water activities in Cornwall at Easter

Why not get active this Easter in Cornwall? We have so many activities and watersports to offer in the county. Book in for a surf lesson, try coasteering or kayaking or opt for a spot of paddleboarding. There’s so many places to try out activities on the water, Cornwall Watersports at Pentwewan Sands have a great range of activities for all ages.

Although it could also fall under ‘Food and Drink’ the amazing Blue River Table is also an incredible on the water activity! Join Charlotte and Jess on board ‘Tethra’, their beautifully restored Cornish motor launch, where they can offer you the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal experience. Definitely a memory maker!

The beauty of Cornwall is that there really is something to keep the whole family entertained. Whether you’re 6 or 96, a day at the beach with an ice cream or fish and chips in newspaper is the stuff memories are made of! Whatever you do with your Easter holiday this year, we hope you all get to enjoy some precious time with your loved ones.
