Autumn is a great time to visit Falmouth. The town and beaches are quieter than the height of summer, but we still get to enjoy lots of warm and sunny weather. There is also a packed events schedule, so take a look at some of our top tips for activities to add to your diary over the next few months.
The Gyllyngdune Tea Festival returns to the beautiful, tropical Gyllyngdune gardens on Sunday 23rd September. A great event for the whole family celebrating all things tea and the history of the gardens, visitors can enjoy an eclectic mix of circus and dance performances, listen to live music, indulge in a tasty cream tea, watch pop-up theatre, get involved with ‘craft-tea’ activities, and sample a delicious range of teas from the UK and further afield.
Looking ahead to October, the Falmouth Beer Festival runs from 4th – 6th October on Event’s Square. The festival will feature more than 240 delicious Real Ales from local and national breweries and microbreweries, alongside over 60 ciders and perries, and other bottled beers and wines. The two marquees overlooking the Fal River will also have food, live entertainments and tutored beer tastings.
One of Cornwall’s biggest and best loved specialist food festivals will be marking it’s 22nd year 11th – 14th October. Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the native Fal Oyster and the diversity of Cornish seafood. Visitors can enjoy delicious food and drink, cooking demos, live music and craft stalls.
