When asked to describe their perfect boat trip, many people would imagine clear blue skies, open seas and maybe even a stop alongside to visit a charming, inviting local pub or inn for refreshments, a lazy lunch or evening meal on the water.
This is why we think Cornwall is the perfect place for a charter yacht experience. When it comes to finding the best pubs beside the sea, let the Bowman Yacht Charters team take you through our favourite spots to drop anchor and enjoy the finest Cornish hospitality.
Surrounded by woodland and rolling fields, the Ferryboat has its own floating pontoon and shingle beach, as well as a varied menu and delicious Sunday roasts during the winter. The Shipwrights is a little more tucked away down river, but also offers a great Sunday roast, as well as delicious seafood caught by fishermen using the slipway outside – as fresh as you can get!
Towards Falmouth itself, you may like to take a trip to The Working Boat, situated right on the waterfront so you can gaze across Falmouth Harbour, or the 16th century inn The Chain Locker, believed to be one of Falmouth’s oldest buildings, which offers two fantastic new balconies, ideal for soaking up the stunning views.
Head round to Mylor and we recommend you enjoy a stop at the Pandora Inn on the edge of Restronguet Creek. With a thatched roof, flagstone floors, low-beamed ceiling and roaring fires in the winter, it’s easy to feel transported back in time – in fact some parts of the inn actually do date back to the 13th century. Alternatively, visit Castaways in Mylor Harbour for Italian-style cuisine, tasty seafood dishes and a bustling harbour atmosphere.
As well as providing our top tips for the best waterside pubs in Cornwall, the Bowman Yacht Charters team can also take care of all the sailing and navigation for you, if you chose a skippered charter on one of our three comfortable yachts.
