Bareboat Charter - Qualifications
If you’re an experienced sailor, a bareboat yacht charter in Cornwall, Devon or the Isles of Scilly is an amazing way to get out on the water, without the cost and commitment of owning your own boat.
To ensure you have the best possible experience, it’s important that you or a member of your crew has the necessary experience and qualifications to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Please take a look below to find out what qualifications we will require from those booking a bareboat charter.
If you’re booking a skippered charter, you don’t need any previous experience.
Qualifications Required
As a minimum it will be necessary for you, or a member of your crew to have both the following:
– RYA Day Skipper qualification, taken in tidal waters
– RYA Competent Crew qualification
We will require proof of these qualifications, in the form of your certification. Once your booking is complete we’ll send you a link where you can upload scanned copies or photos.
If you are completing the course at the time of booking, that is not a problem. However, if you haven’t completed the course & achieved the relevant certification by the day of your charter, we will not release the yacht and you will lose your booking fee.
